1996 BMW E36 M3

THE MODEL

The BMW 3 series line began in 1982.  The first M3 in 1986 with the E30.  The E36 was the second generation which began in 1992.  The M3 has always been the performance version of the regular 3 series. Upgrades include: engine, handling, brakes, aerodynamics and lightweight material.  It featured the BMW S50 straight six engine.  The M3 line has redefined BMW high performance and quality engineering.

THIS CAR

This particular 1996 E36 M3 in Estoril Blue Metallic has been under current ownership since 2008 by the current Chief Track Instructor of the BMW CCA GGC region.  He also has owned a BMW repair shop for 20+ years.  This car has been set up for the track, while remaining street legal and more importantly, comfortable on the street.  Showing 23,368 on the ODO, the instrument cluster was replaced at around 51k, for a total of 74k miles on the car.  A true drive/race/drive home car it has many tasteful modifications that enhance the performance including:
