THE MODEL
The 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa was a continuation of the venerable 911 line. With its iconic Targa roof, it seamlessly combines the thrill of open-air driving with the structural integrity of a coupe. Sporting a powerful 3.2-liter flat-six engine, producing 207 horsepower, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in around 5.5 seconds, with a top speed approaching 150 mph. The rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive configuration, along with responsive steering and well-tuned suspension, contributes to its excellent handling dynamics.
THE CAR
This was a European delivery car. It was delivered at the factory in Stuttgart on May 15, 1984. It arrived in NY on July 3rd, 1984. It was sold in 1992 to it's second owner who moved to California. In 1996, the current owner purchased the car with 58,598 miles on the clock. We have service records dating back to 1989.
The current owner put just over 5000 miles on the car until 2006, when they stored the car. It came out of storage in 2023 and a refurishment was commenced to bring it back to excellent mechanical condition including:
Smog,
New battery
New Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires
In July, a $3645 service by R&D Motorsports included a full inspection, new brake calipers and other items
Front seats were re-covered
Compression test showed all cylinders between 145-152.
This car is now in excellent driving shape and presents extremely well. A true time capsule, this car is ready for someone to enjoy it's next 40 years!
