THE MODEL
The 1973 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super 1.6 is an Italian sports sedan that embodies the essence and performance of 1960 & 70s Europe. Powered by a 1.6-liter inline-four engine with two carbs, they boast a 5-speed manual transmission. Famously used by Italian Polizia in period (just watch the original Italian Job). With the appearance of a boxy 4-door, it was known to have the best drag coefficient of any sedan of it's era (CD=0.34)
THE CAR
This car was originally sold in September 1973 in Loano, Italy. We have the registration book showing 3-owners, with the original owner having the car for over 40 years!
It was imported by Euro Classix Car of San Francisco in late 2015. The current owner purchased it from them in March 2016. The owner's goal was to make this an amazing driving machine and spared no expense dialing the car in, including an engine, clutch, and transmission rebuild along with new suspension components all done pre-COVID. In preparation for sale, it was taken to highly regarded AlfaMan in Novato for a once over. He replaced a drag link tie-rod and tuned an synchronized the dual Weber carbs.
Some of the highlights of improvements since 2016 include:
2019 - Full engine rebuild, rebuilt transmission, new clutch, rebuilt driveline, complete front end suspension rebuild along with new tie-rod, steering idle arm & rebuilt rear trailing arms
2020 - Front and rear Alfaholics ATE brake rebuild
2023 - Alfaholics Stainless Steel performance exhaust
