THE MODEL

The 1970 Porsche 911S is a continuation of the famous 911 models that ran from 1965 to 1973.  The 911S was introduced  as a higher-performance version of the base model 911.  The 1970 model year "S" variant came with several improvements over the previous year's model. One of the biggest changes was the introduction of a new 2.2-liter engine, which replaced the 2.0-liter engine that had been used in earlier models.

The new engine produced 180 horsepower and was paired with a five-speed manual transmission. This combination allowed the 911S to go from 0 to 60 mph in just over 6 seconds and reach a top speed of around 140 mph.

Other upgrades for the 1970 model year included larger front and rear brakes, wider wheels and tires, and an improved suspension system. The interior was also updated with new seats, a new dashboard design, and improved sound deadening.

THIS CAR

This S has been in the same family for 38 years!  The current owner acquired the car in 1997.  It is an exceptionally nice driver example of the 911S.  It features it's original engine and transmission, it has been repainted in it's original Irish Green/15 paint job and refurbished original black leatherette seats with a corduroy insert.

During COVID, the long time owner commissioned the car to a sympathetic refreshing.  Anything that needed attention received it, however they were careful not to 'over due' it.  The owner wanted a strong driving car that could be taken out without fear of ruining a Concours quality restoration.

The rare car is now ready to be enjoyed by it's next caretaker!
