THE MODEL

The 1968 Alfa Romeo Giulia GT 1300 Junior is a quintessential example of Italian automotive design and engineering from the late 1960s. This compact sports coupe, designed by the legendary Giorgetto Giugiaro for Bertone, features a sleek and timeless profile with clean lines and a distinctive front grille.

Under the hood, the Giulia GT 1300 Junior is powered by a spirited 1.3-liter twin-cam inline-four engine, delivering a lively driving experience despite its modest displacement. The car's nimble handling and precise steering made it a joy to drive on winding roads, embodying the essence of Alfa Romeo's racing heritage.

With its elegant yet aggressive styling and a focus on driving pleasure, the 1968 Giulia GT 1300 Junior remains a beloved classic among enthusiasts and a testament to Alfa Romeo's commitment to performance and design.

THIS CAR

Purchased by our client in 2014 from Rozelli's in San Jose as rolling chassis, this car already had it's "Abnormale" 1750 engine.  Our client, who has had many superb and correct Alfa's decided this would be a great hot rod built to their tastes.  They used mostly Sprint GT Veloce parts during the build, including a rare NOS dash acquired in Italy.

The car was immediately handed over to a who's who of Alfa experts here in the San Francisco Bay Area.  A bare metal restoration commenced with Chris Off handling the rebuilding of both the bigger 1750 engine and 5-speed transmission, Andy Schank did the rust repair and paint work, Tom Sahines was tasked with pulling everything together.

What resulted was a top notch restoration of a classic Alfa design, more rare and coveted than the GTV's, the stepnose design by Bertone is immediately recognizable as an Alfa, but looks much more unique.  This is a fun, collectable car that earns the title of 'rolling art'!
