THE MODEL

The 1963 Corvette Convertible "Fuelie" is a highly sought-after model from Chevrolet’s iconic C2 generation, known for its sleek design and advanced performance. The term "Fuelie" refers to the rare option of a fuel-injected 327 cubic inch V8 engine, which produced an impressive 360 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful and advanced American sports cars of its time.

The convertible’s lightweight body and refined suspension allowed for agile handling and a thrilling driving experience. With its signature split-window design available on the coupe that year and sharp styling, the 1963 Corvette marked a new era of performance and innovation. The fuel injection system was cutting-edge technology, offering superior throttle response and power compared to carbureted versions. Today, the Fuelie is prized among collectors for its rarity, performance, and its place in Corvette history.

THIS CAR

Our client purchased this car a few years ago after it was the subject of a complete rotisserie restoration.

The exterior was repainted in ''941'', Sebring Silver. The chrome and stainless trim was either replaced or refurbished, new emblems, door handles, front and rear bumpers, and chrome exhaust tips were installed, then finished with a new, black soft top.

The included hard top was also refurbished and painted to match the body color. The frame was media blasted and painted with semi-gloss black before the body was bolted backdown in preparation for a completely new suspension, brakes, exhaust, fuel system and much more.

The interior was restorated with its original trim code ''490M'', red vinyl. New seat covers, door panels, carpet and trim panels were installed as well as all metal dash and trim components painted to match. Under the hood sits the matching numbers 327 cubic inch engine with correct VIN information stamped on the front pad along with the engine plant, assembly date, and suffix code stamp (F0704RF).

The ''RF'' suffix designates the engine as a Fuel Injected 327cid engine with a factory rated 360 horsepower - the most power ever offered by Chevrolet in any Corvette. This engine was rebuilt to factory specifications including solid lifter camshaft/lifters. The fuel injection unit has the correct 1963-part number tag (7017375) and has been rebuilt as well. A Muncie 4-speed transmission was also rebuilt.
