THE MODEL

The 1961 Mercedes-Benz 190SL is a classic sports car that has the iconic design cues so well known on both the 190 & 300SL.  Introduced in the mid-1950s as a more affordable alternative to the prestigious 300SL, the 190SL combines sleek, timeless styling with a comfortable interior.

Powered by a 1.9-liter inline-four engine, it delivers a balance of performance and refinement. The car features distinctive design elements, such as its iconic grille, elegant curves, and a convertible soft top. With a focus on driving pleasure and style, the 1961 Mercedes-Benz 190SL remains a sought-after collector's item, appreciated for its classic design and historical significance.

THE CAR

This 1961 Mercedes-Benz 190SL was first sold at Bickelhaupt Motor Co. in Clinton, Iowa.  A three-owner car, the previous owner purchased in 1990 and the current owner acquired it in 2018.  It has a restoration in the 00's and now presents as a high level driver.

Much attention has been paid to the mechanicals on this car and the current owner rebuilt the transmission as the differential with over $15k in invoices since 2018.
