1988 BMW 325

THE MODEL

The BME E30 line began in 1982 as a replacement to the first BMW 3 series, the E21.  Running through 1994 the E30 series received a facelift in 1987.  The E30 line comprised a two and four door sedan, a convertible and a wagon. The regular 3 series cars used an inline 6-cylinder engine (the M20).  The first M3 used the marvelous I4 S14 motor.  Some of the features that modernized, and made famous, the E30 line of cars include: MacPherson Struts in the front and a rear semi-trailing arm, which left ample trunk and passenger room.  Brakes on 1987+ were vented disc brakes.

THIS CAR

This particular E30 325 has quite a story!  A one owner California car, the  owner purchased it from the Santa Rosa BMW dealer.  The gentleman, a disabled Vietnam Vet bought this car to replace his 2002 which he had run for a decade and a half with hand controls.  Similar mechanical hand controls were fitted to this car (now removed) and he drove this to it's current mileage of just under 150k.  Needless to say this car has a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The car has been kept in immaculate condition and features its original paint and a clean carfax report.  The front and rear seats were immediately covered with sheepskin (and vinyl on the rear bench) to protect against the owner's wheelchair.  The result is basically 'as new' interior.  The dash, headliner, etc is also in that same immaculate condition.

This is a true time capsule, an unmodified, original, no rust California one owner car.  Make all the heads turn at the next RADwood 80's event by driving up in this stunningly clean Alpinwiess BMW!
