1997 PORSCHE 911 CABRIOLET

THE MODEL

The 911 saw a major change in 1994 with the 993 model. Most importantly, it was the last of the air-cooled 3.6l flat-six. The 993 featured significant changes to the body, with a more sleek aerodynamic design while still retaining the classic 911 shape. Another major innovation was the reworked rear multilink suspension, which improved on the classic oversteering characteristics of the rear-engined 911 design.

THIS CAR

This 1997 model was built towards the end of the air-cooled run. The car is a lifetime CA car with just under 280k miles. The body and interior are in great shape for a car with this many miles. The convertible top and front seat inserts were replaced in the last year. The current owner purchased this from the first owner in late 2008 with 224k miles on the clock. We have all receipts from 1997 onwards.

The car does have oil leaks, however a recent compression test shows very strong results. This car could use a refreshening of the suspension to bring back it's original amazing handling. A great value for a knowledgeable Porsche enthusiast, it is probably the least expensive way to get into an air-cooled 911 today!
